Our numbers are growing. The most important steps in recent weeks were:

  • With 770 green shareholders at present, we now represent 1.8 million euros worth of shares in Shell.
  • We are in communication with Shell to table a resolution for the next shareholders’ meeting in May 2016. The above artist’s impression will then become a reality. All shareholders, including the large pension funds, would have to make their position on this resolution by voting.
  • Our team has been extended to include Michiel Schrijver, Maarten Bax, and Martijn Lodewijkx. Our new ambassadors are Stientje van Veldhoven (MP Energy & Climate, D66) and Arjan van Timmeren (Professor of Architecture & Director AMS Institute).
  • We make regular public appearances and have been drawing frequent media coverage, for example last week in Het Parool.

We will continue our mission until Shell feels enough support to change course.

Follow This is a movement of green shareholders in Shell. We want to promote a quicker transition to sustainability by having Shell become a sustainable energy company. We are doing this by becoming shareholders in large numbers and by encouraging existing shareholders such as pension funds to lend support to our mission. We will keep up the pressure until Shell feels enough support for a new way of doing business.

At our website it takes only one click to become a green shareholder of Shell (26 euros at present) and to send an e-mail to Shell CEO Ben van Beurden as a brand-new shareholder.

You can see our questions presented at Shell’s most recent shareholders’ meeting and Ben van Beurden’s answers here. You can see the media coverage here.

We hope that you too will by a green share in Shell at our website www.follow-this.org and will spread our story: Change the world: buy Shell!
