INVESTOR BRIEFING
At the Shell AGM, 19% of shareholders urged Shell to reduce emissions this decade by voting in favour the climate resolution filed by Follow This and 27 investors, a similar percentage as last year (20%).
The votes revealed which investors are committed to Paris and which endorse Big Oil’s refusal to reduce emissions. These two positions were reflected in headlines such as Fifth of Shell investors revolt against its climate strategy during tense AGM (The Independent) and Shell Investors Back Weaker Emissions Targets at Meeting (Bloomberg).
After the four largest investors in the UK published their votes, the Financial Times headline read Shell vote highlights asset managers’ climate. Please find the UK voting table below and our press release here.

In our next investor briefing, we will update you on the most recent developments in Exxon’s lawsuit against shareholders.
Many thanks to the investors who voted in favour of the climate resolution, especially the 27 co-filers.
